With over 40 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Butch Ferguson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of local anesthesia. At DCG, he taught dentists, residents and dental students oral surgery, sedation dentistry, and the management of medical emergencies. He was the instructor and course director for the local anesthesia course for all dental students. While in education, he earned a reputation as a fun, engaging, and dynamic professor. He is dedicated to empowering clinicians with the skills and confidence to prioritize safety and proficiency in their practice. His approachable teaching style and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge make him a favorite among students and colleagues alike.

Dr. Rebecca Hobbs


Dr. Rebecca Hobbs is a general dentist in private practice and the director of continuing education courses for dentists looking to expand their scope of practice. With over 20 years of experience in both private practice dentistry and continuing education administration, she is passionate about helping others grow in their field and is excited to share her knowledge and skills with other dental professionals. Dr. Hobbs will be the course director for the local anesthesia course and the point of contact for participants. She is committed to ensuring that every hygienist feels comfortable and confident with local anesthesia upon completing the course.


Didactic Video Sessions:

  • Each video is 1 hour in length with additional reading to meet the didactic requirement.
  • Each session will combine theoretical knowledge with practical application to ensure participants develop a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in local anesthesia administration for dental hygienists.
  • A quiz will be given at the end of the video sessions to be turned in at the live event.


Live In-Person Event:

The 3-Day in-person event ensures ample time for hands-on practice, discussions, and review sessions, allowing participants to gain proficiency in injection techniques and complete the course successfully.
